A New Stingray and Something Faster

So a friend of mine just picked up his sweet new Stingray. I am, to say the least, extremely jealous of him. But he’s offloading something far more interesting. Before scrolling down, take a look between the trucks in the background and guess what it is.

Pretty damned car. He ordered it a few months back from a local dealership that does NOT charge a markup for any of their cars. Here’s a couple more pics of it.

One of these cars will be gone soon, sadly. It’s the Viper. But it’s not just ANY Viper.

It’s actually a 2001 Hennessey Venom 800. Say what you will about the company (actually, I don’t want this post to become a bitching post about Hennessey, so don’t say anything), but this car is an absolute BEAST. Sub-three second 60 time, ALL the torque, and a V10 that will make your momma scream in either ecstasy or fear. And it’s now for sale. Two owner car, BTW (price is negotiable).

The oil industry pays well.

Honestly the cities down there are so spread out it’s kind of impossible to avoid unless you want to live in an apartment downtown. I know people that live in the Dallas suburbs and it takes them two hours to drive to the city center. Just crazy.

I could get to downtown without traffic, driving 80% of the time on 65-70 MPH freeways, in about 45 minutes. Add in ANY cars on the road, and that number goes up quickly.

That’s just crazy to me. With no traffic, it takes me a little over an hour to get to downtown Detroit, and I live in a small town with miles and miles of farm land and other small towns between me and the furthest suburbs. I guess when you’ve got all that land though that’s what happens.
